A child actress grown up (and out) in mysteriously sexy ways, Fairuza Balk started her big screen career in a major way, taking the reins from Judy Garland by playing Dorothy in the the unofficial Wizard of Oz sequel, Return to Oz (1985). The uniquely beautiful young actress didn’t flinch for her next big role either, starring in legendary director Milos Forman‘s French period piece Valmont (1989). She took home an Independent Spirit Award for her role as the hot but sensitive Shade, in Gas Food Lodging (1992). But while Fairuza was bringing in the critical acclaim, she wouldn’t find mainstream stardom until she played the weirdest witch in the coven we want to come in, Nancy Downs in The Craft (1996). Fairuza means turquoise in Persian, and she gave her fans turquoise balls with her exotic, dark features and rock hard nipples that poked through a white tee shirt. You might not be light as a feather, but she’ll have you stiff as a board! After playing a belly-dancing cat-woman hybrid in Marlon Brando‘s widely panned version of The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996), Fairuza appeared in a couple wildly different huge Hollywood hits. First, she played Edward Norton‘s white supremacist girlfriend in American History X (1998). The radical look at black and white relations in America gave us a nice black and white shot of Fairuza’s fair skinned funbags as Edward Norton makes her bite the pillow as he pounds her from behind. On a much lighter note, that same year she played Vicki Vallencourt, the psychotic Cajun cutie Adam Sandler gets with in the college football comedy The Waterboy (1998). While we were thirsty for more from Fairuza, she made us all sticky as a band-aid, not a groupie, in the ’70s cock-rock epic Almost Famous (2000). After a disappointingly tame role in Deuces Wild (2002) Fairuza’s acting slowed down significantly, with her appearing in B movies like Bad Lieutenant: Port Call of New Orleans (2009), which does have a sexy scene where she stomps on Nicolas Cage‘s balls in a black bra, black panties, and black leather calf high boots, and the surprisingly not about 2020 indie drama Shit Year (2010). After appearing in a few documentaries about her acting, the small screen was where Fairuza returned to mainstream stardom, appearing as the prostitute Ginger on the Southie crime drama Ray Donovan. We hope someday soon she gives us a full look at her all her mysteriously alluring elements, because we would never balk at the idea of seeing more Fairuza.
